Nursery Complete!

Joe walked into the nursery this week and said 'I can't believe my SON'S room is done'.  :)

It is looking pretty good thanks to all of you!!!!!!!!!!!!!  There is a piece of each person in our lives in the baby's room represented through various pieces of furniture, clothes, toys, love.  I can't wait to bring him home to his new room!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Step 1: Moved the couch out of the room when we got the crib in the mail.

Step 2: Joe puts crib together.

Step 3: Clustered baby clothes and baby toys.

Step 4: Crib put together. Other items purchased (rug included).
Step 5: Rug doctor rented.

Step 6: Everything removed from room. Carpets cleaned.

Step 7: Mom cleans top to bottom!

Step 8: Get more gifts! Joe pulls out his drills/tools and rolls up his sleeves.

Step 9: Put together changing table & swing.

Step 10: Taunt Ellie with new toys and swing that moves on its own!

Step 11: Take a quick break from all of the building and organizing.
Step 12: Bring shower clothes home.  Ellie 'helps' organize baby bro's swag.

Step 13: All is constructed.  Everything put away. Bets & mom put up garland and set up the changing station. Clean the crib sheets and put the finishing touches.

Step 14: Make it feel like home :)

Rocking Chair Metamorphosis

Joe's dad and stepmom gave us their HUGE old wood rocking chair as sort of a DIY piece for the nursery that we could make our own.  It was a beautiful piece beforehand but we sanded and painted it over weeks, completing the project together.  Now feeling very accomplished and proud of ourselves, we'd like you to see the metamorphosis:

Sand! Sand! Sand!
Prime! Prime! Prime!

Primer gave it a grey tint.

First coat of paint.

Painting on a rainy day.

After the final paint coat dried.

Final product.  Good job, baby daddy!

Baby's beautiful nursery!

'May Showers' - Cloud Shower Part 2

Shower pictures part 2

These are my favorite pictures from the shower with descriptions of why:

A natural scene from the kitchen. Just as the day went: chaos & entertainment.

My two best girls collaborating.

An adorable embrace between Llyndsey's mom and my own. Lets just say they hit it off.

I love this picture of the flowers. The crisp linen and beautiful flowers pulled everything together.

SOOOO pleased with this mimosa bar.

Love this picture because I had Bets giving gifts/taking cards, Emmy writing gift descriptions and Jenni taking the opened gifts.  Here I am throwing tissue at my team :)

'I will be mighty' the onesie says. It was a great moment.

Could not have made it through the pregnancy without the love and support of these two.

My whole world!

Love this weird moment captured with the Reese women.

Despite coming in 2 hours late!!! Baby daddy was a delight (as always) once he arrived. Belle of the ball.

Emily put the 'Its a Boy' tag on my belly. The white bow is from a gift I unwrapped.

A quiet moment between Erin and I.

Those are my favorites!!!!!!!!!!!  Hope you liked these moments too!

'May Showers' - Cloud Shower Part 1

Leading up to the shower, we did LOTS of crafting and preparation for the fun!  My sister and mom worked tirelessly on all of the details.  My sister worked on many of the small details for months.... every last detail was so.very.me.  She thought through each thing and made it very Cloud and very me.  Took a little bit to reign in my mom's creative genius as she moves 100 million miles a minute and has a hard time focusing on anything for that long.... so extra work went into the crafting on Bets' part just in getting my mom focused and work work working.

Prepping included:

stockpiling crafts in the nursery

gift bag making central

Bets' handmade garland. Now hanging in the finished nursery

So cute up close.

Handmade felt cloud mobiles
each hand-stitched, stuffed, cut by my mom and sister
they made 14 of them!

the cloud meringues took my mom 3 hours to make!

little smokies per Joe's request

stormy morning of the shower. all hands on deck!
the mimosa bar. paper straws. cloth adornments made by my sister

so fun to see it all come together.

Georgina got all of the flowers - white & yellow and put them in the perfect spots
