Nursery Prep. The Transition of the Babycave.

We turned the 'ladycave' into the 'babycave'.  It is in transition..... to say the least.  We are still sanding the rocking chair. Still putting together the odds and ends. And of course we do still need a few more of the big details but it is really shaping up!  We kicked our butts into gear once the crib and crib mattress arrived from Joe's mom, Sandi. :)  And now it is finally starting to look more like a complete room for baby!

Here is the story of the transition (through photographs).  The last picture of the nursery is the latest image of what his room looks like now.

This weekend we are tackling the sanding of the rocking chair out on the deck in this nice weather!  Pictures to come of the rocking chair's transformation!

Week 27.  Crib arrives and Joe gets to work.

Reading the instructions (after going it alone).

Almost sorted out...

Finished product - a BEAUTIFUL crib.

Got bins this weekend for baby's clothes and toys.

Week 28.

The lovely Erin Williams bought us this book to honor part of the baby's namesake.

Baby's first 'shoes'.   Bets loves that they say 'ROAR'!

Baby's first funky onesie from B.
Ellie helped put together the baby's room. Took some getting used to with all of those fun toys laying around!

Little feet!
Joe playing guitar to the baby during an afternoon off.

Rattle from B.  Ellie thinks it is hers.

Baby's new buddies.
This has such sentimental value to me as it was the first thing I bought for baby the day after I found out the news.  I will always keep this to tell him about how I cried in the store picking it out.

  2. I love that you are doing this. I will enjoy reading it and seeing pictures. And wholly cow, you are 28 weeks, 3rd trimester! How time flies. You have a rutabaga on your way to an acorn squash. Wow!
